At the first weekend of june, STARC Aquitaine organized the 15th edition of its meeting.

A meeting with rain... The weather didn't help us this weekend. The teams coming by far did not have of it that more merit. One can quote a Renault Spider one from Paris, an Alpine GTA Mille Miles or a Renault 5 Turbo one from Pau...


All teams were welcomed by the members of the STARC Aquitaine with a warm coffee.

   

Saturday morning - Gradignan-Plassac

At the rain, was added the difficulty in using the by-pass of Bordeaux after an accident... Passed the bridges of Aquitaine and  Dordogne, the teams reached the Tayac Castle. Interesting panorama, where one sees at the same time, the Dordogne, the Garonne and the Gironde...
Then, we joined our place of meal, the Monconseil Castle.

Saturday  - Lunch at Monconseil Castle near Plassac

We were shown with the youngest member of the Baudet Family - the grand-father still holds the exploitation - over the wine storehouses and he had to answer the most various questions (the method of wine making, the white wine, the red wine, barrels...).
The rain stops... finally...
The meal enables us to sympathize with all Alpine and Renault Sport fans. The finished meal, it rains... again...

Saturday at the end of afternoon - a Visit of Blaye

After all teams reached the edges of the Gironde, every body have gone to Blaye for a visit of the historical city. All people could discover the Vauban fortifications and the old city.

Saturday evening Repas at Etauliers

The municipality of Etauliers made a point of accomodating us for a drink of the friendship. We thank it for his greeting.
The meal oganized by one of wire of the Baudet family was the occasion to reward all the teams after this first rainy day.

Results :

1° Jambon on Alpine A310 V6
2° a team on Renault Sport Spider
3° Eymeri - Valette with une Alpine A110 'spécial' (38cv et 520 kg ! without kilomoter or speed indicator)

The most tired teams or others teams having benefitted as well as possible from the meal... could place with the hotel.

 

Les équipages les plus fatigués ou ayant profité au mieux du repas... pouvaient loger à l'hôtel sur place.

Sunday morning - Circuit of Merignac

As of 9 hours - short night for much, the teams reach the circuit of Merignac for a new day dedicated to the free tests series...
It is always the occasion to view some others sport cars (Alpine 1800 Usine, Proto R8, Proto Dauphine...).
This year again, the Club of Cabaco came with many carsas (Alpine A110 1800 Usine, Alpine Alpine A310 V6, Renault 8 Gordini, Renault 5...)
It was the occasion also to view on circuit the shock of the generation...

 

   

Sunday - Lunch

Close to the circuit, all were for a new meal and the handing-over of new prizes...
But very quickly, the teams rejoignèrent the circuit for free tests...

 
 

The meeting stopped near 17:30 when the circuit was closed.
