After more than one year of interrogations on the future of the Circuit of Mérignac, STARC Aquitaine is the first automobile club what is able to invite to you on this track.

Some innovations this year, the new manager of the Circuit of Mérignac imposed a vehicle inspection to us. It included a control of the sound volume emitted by the cars at 4500 trs/mn. The free exhaust was prohibited. Two cars were readjusted, one been able to set out again with the fast addition of a muffler. Unfortunately, Thierry, for lack of parts to correct the problem, could not take part.

The car inspection made it possible to confirm the good mechanical state of the whole of the park car and to sensitize once again the participants in the safety requirements.

After the inspection of all cars, and a briefing and a recall of the security instructions and significance of the flags, we launched the first series.

For midday, the intendance team of the STARC Aquitaine had made the things well. Nearly 100 meals were been useful during the pause lunch, under the tent planned for the occasion.

The series began again towards 2 pm, alternating like the morning series of trucks and series of single-seaters.

A broad public attracted by a very sunny day joined us to admire the drifts maintained by several pilots. We counted more than 80 Alpine and Renault Sport on the carpark! Towards 17h30, we closed the track after a last serie reserved for the single-seaters and Spider.

Large a thank you with all the participants who knew, to follow the security instructions, to save the police chiefs and the employees with the sweeping of the track. The person in charge for the Circuit was allured by our serious and will be able to perhaps propose to us new dates for a new day of free tests at Mérignac.
