A new time, Comas Historic Racing authorises us to publish this page. Thank You Erik.:

CHR to challenge The 6th "Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique"
For 5 glorious days from February 1st 2003, the sixth running of the Monte-Carlo Historic Rally will take place around the famous principality. Comas Historic Racing founder Erik Comas will again take part in the event, in one of no less than five Berlinette Alpine A110 machines entered by his firm. Support will be provided by two period Renault 16TS cars, as well as one SAVIEM SG2- perfect for setting the appropriate atmosphere on this historic outing.
This event marks the 30th anniversary of the first World Rally Championship victory for the pretty and universally loved machine. To commemorate the significance of the event, the racing numbers associated with the Alpine marque (15, 16, 17, and 18) will be used. Naturally, the fifth machine, specifically for this event, will take the number 19.

Car number 15 is a specially-prepared 1800cc Group 4 car, recently having been returned to France from Japan. This particular car finished 2nd in the championship in 1973, with then-driver, and now Toyota F1 boss Ove ANDERSSON at the wheel. His co-pilot was none other than Jean TODT, who also shone in this year's F1 championship with the title-winning Ferrari team. Moreover, this machine is also the car in which Jean-Luc THERIER grasped the wheel, controlling the Portugal Rally, and greatly contributing to the championship success of Alpine for 1973.

Although the red-coloured number 17 car was Jean REDELE demonstration vehicle, and was sold off to a certain individual after that heady period, Erik bought the machine back in the early 90's. You could say the whole CHR adventure started with that car, Erik first taking the wheel for the 2001 Monte-Carlo Historic Rally. CHR's debut came with Jean RAGNOTTI at the wheel in this year's event. A Japanese crew also ran the car in this year's Tour De Corse, held in October.

A powerful new driver will join the CHR stable for the 2003 Monte-Carlo Historic Rally, the 2000 Road Racing Championship (WGP) 250cc Class Champion, Olivier JACQUE. He will be driving the number 19 car, with one of his personal sponsors acting as co-driver.

All eyes will be on Olivier and his performance in this event!
