The
Interlagos was produced by Willys Overland do Brasil at Santo Amaro's
factory in São Paulo state Brazil.
The production start in 1961 with the importation from France of Alpine like
models. The total production was 822 cars in three versions berlinette, convertible
and coupe.
The sales start in 1962 and
finish in 1966. In 1967 Ford Motor Company bought the Willys in Brasil,
and stoped the Dauphine Gordini production in 1968.
The cars are hand made in a
very artesian producton.
In 1962 and 1963, the factory offer 4 engine options :
- the 845 with 40 HP, 8,2:1compression
rate, Solex carb (32 PIBT)
- the 904 with 50 HP, 8,2:1compression
rate, Solex carb (32 PIBT)
- the 998 N with 56 HP, 8,2:1compression
rate, Solex carb (32 PIBT)
- the 998 C with 65 HP, 10:1compression
rate, Weber carb (36 duble)
In 1964 to 1966 the factory
offer just 1 option: The "1093" Is an 845 cc with 53 HP,
9,2:1 compression rate, Solex carb (32 PAIA double). In 1964 the car
became to be better finished, the eletrical system is changed the 6
volts to 12 volts, the fiberglas body became more stronger and thick.

One is from 1963 it is white and the other is one from 1964, both convertibles.
The 63 car is in final of
the complete restoration . We have used this car sice new ever, like
the 3rd car at home, for a wekeend trips. But one year ago we decide
to make a total restoration of this 74.000 Km and 36 years old boy.
We dismount all the car, engine, suspension, eletrical sistem, etc.
All things are revised, the engine was rebuilted, gearbox, rubbers,
etc. Now it was mounted, but the work continues (final adjustments).
The 1964 has just 5.800km.
The color is gold, the engine is an 998cm3 very hot (the base is
an dauphine's 1093 engine with a solex 32 Paia carburator, an SEV
distributor with an exit for the cable to the mechanical tachometer).
his car was garaged at the past for 25 years without manutention. I
start to put this car in condition of ride last december with a brake
service, fuel pump substitution and many other replacements. "
Willys Interlagos in races
The Interlagos make famous lots
of brazilian race drivers like Emersom Fittipaldi, José Carlos
Pace,etc, the factory make a racing division The "Equipe Willys"
your cars are painted in yellow with a green central stripe. This team
win lots of races, the cars are prepareted with performance equipements
imported from Alpine France.
We should see one Inerlagos coupe, one Iterlagos berlinette and the Marcello
Ramos Betaga father with a white Auto Union DKW at the center. His father won
that race.
When his father race against an Interlagos, the fight was hard !
