95 wins from 286 Grand Prix starts, 11 world championship titles.
In 20 seasons of Formula 1, Renault has chalked up an exceptional list
of achievements with its own team and in partnership with the greatest
teams of modernday Formula 1.
34 drivers, of 10 different nationalities, have raced and often won,
powered to victory by a Renault engine. Among them, five have won the
World Championship title sporting the Renault colours: Nigel Mansell,
Alain Prost, Michaël Schumacher, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve.
Between the first Grand Prix in which Renault competed (Silverstone, July
16, 1977) and the 1997 European Grand Prix, the list of achievements runs
like this:
- 286 Grand Prix starts
- 135 pole positions
- 104 lap records
- 95 wins (of which 34 one-twos, 10 one-two-threes and 2 one-two-three-fours)
- 2,017 points scored
- 40 Grand Prix races led from flag to flag by a Renault engine
- 55 Triple crowns (pole position, victory, fastest race lap)
